Before you sign anything, ask the builder for their licence number and check it on the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) website. For a new pool above the QBCC contract threshold, you should also receive a written contract that meets QBCC requirements.

Check whether excavation, retaining on sloping blocks, building approval, pool fencing and the pool safety certificate are included or priced separately.
